start to slowly add the flour, again scraping down the sides when needed
When completely mixed, the dough should be moist and hold together easily, but not be
wet or sticky divide the dough, so you have a piece 1/4
and another 3/4 of the total amount. The 1/4 will be the top, and the rest will
be the bottom Roll into a ball, then flatten in the plastic
wrap shown. Flattened will be easier to roll out after
they have chilled. Grease a 9″ fluted tart pan, we also used
parchment paper on the bottom side. Break apart the larger portion into small
pieces for the bottom crust. This will be pressed into the bottom crust
so use your judgment how small the pieces should be. Make sure to work the dough up the sides of
the pan as well Chill the bottom again, while working on the
top crust “cookies” Roll the top piece out very thin and cut cookies
out of the dough to decorate the top of the tart with. Your choice of shapes. repeat the rolling, cutting and setting aside
until the dough is as completely used as you can get it. Chill the cookies with the bottom crust for
an hour or so To make the filling you need 2 cups of chopped
almonds. We used a food processor to chop blanched
almonds, you can use what you like. Grind the nut mixture to a fine consistency. We need to make a mixture of stiffly beaten
egg whites to mix with the nuts 3 egg whites and a 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla,
whip until stiff peaks form mix the egg whites into the nut mixture well
Preheat the oven to 350°F while mixing them together
Smooth the mixture into your tart pan Place the cookies on the top however you would
like Egg wash the cookies if you wish for extra
golden browning Bake at 350°F for 30-40 minutes
Remove from pan, remove parchment paper if used, let cool cut and enjoy! Thank you for watching! Please comment, like and subscribe!
