in the United States as they are in many parts of the world. There are a few places where liver is eaten
in the US. Foie gras (from duck or goose liver) is available
in many fine dining restaurants. You are likely to see pâté on the menus
of French restaurants in American. But other than that, I don’t think liver
is really a staple in the US like it is in some countries. I guess this is one of those foods where there
really aren’t many people in between. For the most part people just love liver or
they hate it. Which camp are you in? Personally, I can’t even stand the looks
of liver for consumption. It may be that I use chicken livers often
for catfish bait and I just can’t imagine eating it. Today, as far as our research is concerned
we are going to discuss the most common liver consumed in America, that is the beef liver. I know there are many other types of liver
that people consume like pork, chicken, deer, goat and so on. But we are talking about beef liver. Beef liver is considered by many as a powerhouse
as far as nutrition goes. One serving of beef liver contains 130 calories
with only 3 carbs and no sugar. You get a great deal of protein in liver and
the Vitamin A is through the roof! One of the reasons many people eat liver is
for the iron. Liver is very rich in iron as well as zinc
and Vitamin B12. If I were to eat liver, my favorite numbers
would the GI and GL both are 0. Is liver good for diabetes? There was a time when those with diabetes
were told to stay away from all red meats and especially organ meat. But times have changed. Liver is a great addition to your diabetes
plate. It truly is a powerhouse for those of us with
diabetes. I hope this answered your question is liver
good or bad for diabetes. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management
